Loska's Ride # 45
KIARA "Yeng's X6 First Ride"

Finally, Matyen bought his basikal idaman.....

School term break was coming... so, I was unsure if I could join the planned ride initiated by Faizal.   However, the urge to ride was stronger than anything....  Previous weekend, I was away thus could not join the three Loskan whom rode Kiara.   This weekend, after (as always) hefty discussions and hundreds of emails, it was again going to be Kiara...  The final rider's list were Faizal, Matyen, and me.. with Ejau giving a 50/50 commitment.
So, here's my story (and the story of Matyen's new bike).....   The RV time was set at 9:00 to 9:30 by Faizal since MatYen will be making a stop at "the biscycle shop" to pick up his brand new Haro ~ congrats Yeng!  The wait has been long.. and must have been a painful ordeal... hehehehe....   Anyway... I arrived at the Taman Rimba parking area 20 minutes after nine.... and Ejau made it!  Bravo bro!   All the three riders were already geared to start...  Thus I quickly park, unload my bike and prepped up in less than 10 minutes....   By 9.45, we were on the move!
This must be the most challenging ride for me.... what with all "powerful" riders and no one in my "league"!   True enuff... by the time we passed the guard house going into Kiara recreational area, Faizal was way up front while Matyen and Ejau were trailing him closely...  Me?   I was at least 5 miuntes behind!   And as they cycled into the first corners along that tarmac road, they were all out of my sight!   And I only see them next resting at the wakaf at the crossroad... huhuhuhuhuhu...
We were undecided on the route to take that morning... on one hand Matyen wanted to finish early while on the other hand, he wanted to give the new ride a good "feel" around as many tracks as possible in Kiara...hmmmm.. decision decision decision....  Not wanting to waste any time, we agreed to do the 4K and exit thru Apollo trail.   Half way through.. had to deflate my tyres a bit... that morning I must have over-inflated them tyres......
Matyen seemed comfortable doing the downhill on the new Haro... and at the end of Apollo, his smiles and grins a testament of his contentment!
Ejau was the first (and only one) to have a go at Yeng's new bike...
.. and he was smiling all the way on this DH...
Faizal?  was afraid that he'll "kena racun"... prolly gesturing and saying "I already have three bikes laaa..."
The four bike : Dawg, Ransom LTD, Haro X6, AM1000...
We sort of agreed to do the Snake & Ladder trail - which means another stretch of tarmac uphill battle!  And I actually was out of breath from then onwards!  What with trying to keep up with the "powerful" riders up front!  So, when we reached the start of S&L trail, I pleaded to the guys for an at least fifteen mins rest..... torturing.. torturing!
While resting, took pics of these three horsemen....
A few notes on the S&L trail... One, I was totally out of energy (& breath)!... two, Faizal helped to push my bike a few times when he saw that I was struggling in keeping up with them... maybe he didn't want to wait that long up front... hehehehe....  sorry guys... can't help my  being semput... :(
At the end of S&L trail, again decision, decision, decision...  and apparently Matyen was getting very much excited with the new bike, so he said "ok lah... naik tokong... pastuh flintstone..."    And proceeded the uphill trudge we did.  This time around, I did a lot of MTB... Mampuihhh Tolak Basikal... :)   Halfway through, we met up with three downhillers resting, prolly after a few round of doing their stuff....  While Faizal, Ejau & Matyen continued to pedal, I stopped to chit chat with 'em.. more catching my breath than stopping to be friendly... hehehehe... but I have to say, the guys were very friendly indeed.  One was actually my age!  Kudos bro!  I think I stopped there a good 10 minutes...
At the tokong, yet another long rest for me.. and I think the guys were thingking to themselves "apaasal laaa org tua nih! asyik nak rest jerr..."... hehehehehe...   And the rest was even longer as two downhillers got there.   Faizal was a bit excited with the two's bike... thus he snapped pics of the Bullit and Yeti ASX.
I wasn't thinking anthing guys.... err.. maybe "so this is how Wak's bike looks like"... :)
"The Three Downhillers".. Faizal said as he snapped this pics.... :)
I could not recall the names of the two guys... alas.. very friendly guys....  they actually led us through the rest of our journey.  I think it was the flintstone trail... a rolling downhill according to them.  Well it a rolling dh alright... more of a rock n' roll ride for me I guess... an equally tiring effort with the uphill rides!  Both my hands were tested and my shoulders really were "thrashed"....  a different kind of tiredness I'd say!   We were trailing the two dhillers....I thought "damn... these guys are fast".... and they were at a slow than their normal pace...  "damn!"   Didn't even have time to stop for a photo session.... "damn!".    If not for Faizal's flat tyre (at the same place he had a flat the previous ride), there wouldn't be any more pictures on this ride.... :)
Matyen at first just observed from afar.. but moved in closer... not to help, but to have a closer look..  hahahahaha...
Well, that was that.   After Faizal's flat were mended, we finished off the ride, as usual at the Kiara's parking lot.  This time though we didn't stop to wash our bikes.  It was a dry, really dry trail that day.  We also didn't spend much time in loading our bikes back onto our cars.   But, we did, as usual, stop at the restaurant besides KSH Cycles for a good lunch... and Faizal pai... thanks bro!   Oh.. by the way, we met Wak at the place....
We parted ways after lunck.  Matyen headed straight home, Ejau went to te hospital in Klang to fetch his wife & son beng discharged that day, while Faizal & me headed towards Batu Cave... Faizal wanted to visit his Uncle Mega....
Uncle Mega at "the bicycle shop" also had Santa Cruz Heckler laa... hehehehe...

Swell ride... Swell ride.... especially for Matyen whom seem not having enuff of Kiara now.....  Well... wherever the group goes....
Adios muchahos... see yer next ride!
